Map HUD and controls
Follow, driving mode, zoom, control size, and keep screen awake.
Map chrome
SpeedLoop uses one full-screen map. Sheets change layers on that map — they do not open a second live map.
Follow and orientation
- Follow keeps the camera on you.
- Map (north-up) vs Driving mode (look-ahead, pitched). Aviation recording stays north-up and cannot enter driving mode.
- In Settings, Auto Driving Mode can enter driving + follow when a car recording starts; if SpeedLoop switched you into driving, finishing the session restores map mode.
Driving zoom
While driving mode is on, + / − nudges camera distance (persisted).
HUD and comfort
- Control Size (Settings): Standard / Large / Extra Large for map buttons.
- Keep Screen Awake: prevents idle lock while the map is in the foreground.
- Map Appearance and Map quality (Optimized / Normal / Smooth) tune look and update cadence.
